Are the steps and the hallways clear of clutter and potential tripping hazards? Is the refrigerator stocked with fresh food and clean? Are there expired medications or unfinished prescriptions in the medicine cabinet?

With asking yourself the questions above, make sure to keep an eye out for potential unsafe conditions and offer to help with anything they may need. Make sure to make every effort to be observant without appearing to be checking up on your loved one.

The age group that was most successful at recalling a number associated with a symbol, or putting a name to a face, was the late teens. However, the teenagers were not as good as the 40-60-year old when it came to discerning emotions based solely on looking at a person’s eyes. However, even better news that came from the study was the discovery that our vocabulary skills peak later in life and don’t begin to decline until we are well into our 60’s.
